Terremark shows how to really make money off a firewall

Been quiet recently, new announcements will be released in the next week or two about new PI services.  Quite excited about that, but for now, another Terremark rant:

I deleted my last Terremark vCloud Express VM out of disgust at the beginning of April. If you just shut down the VM, they'll keep billing you for it. You have to delete it as well.

Last night I received an email stating Terremark was charging me $14.88 for services for the monty of May.  So I login this AM to see if I made a mistake. Nope, no VMs in existance since 4/4.  So I drill down into the bill and find this:

Yep, that's right...even though I had no servers running, no traffic flowing to the site...they still charged me $15 for two ports open on a firewall. Now...if they could just find a way to scale that part of the business...

It's no secret that I have no love for Terremark's implementation of vCloud Express, and I knew I was getting billed for open ports when I had servers running there. I got another Terremark email this morning stating that my account's been marked for deletion as it's been idle for 60 days.  But not quite idle enough that they can't make some money off me...

One gets the impression that Terremark will nickle and dime you however they can. Let the buyer beware.
